AdvertisementThe new single is the third official release from BEYOND BORDERs, a global initiative from leading Japanese IT and media company Dwango created to introduce Vocaloid culture to new audiences by connecting pioneering Japanese creators with artists, producers, and songwriters from around the world.
Built around a pounding heartbeat, explosive production, and the genre-bending intensity that has become central to Odetari’s sound, “Party Monster” pushes Hatsune Miku into a darker, more aggressive sonic world. SatapanP’s production provides the foundation for Odetari’s distinctive vocal and production sensibility as Miku’s unmistakable virtual voice is incorporated into the track. The track captures the energy of a live anthem while retaining the digital immediacy and futuristic edge that define Miku and the broader Vocaloid movement. The blending of each artist’s distinct sounds results in a collaboration that feels both unexpected and entirely at home in today’s boundaryless music landscape. Alongside the track comes a captivating visualizer that brings the song to life with its incredible visuals and energy.
Advertisement“Party Monster” appears on the forthcoming EMERGE M♡DE MIKU EP, which brings Hatsune Miku together with a new generation of Western artists alongside leading Vocaloid producers, songwriters, and producers from Japan and the U.S. The project features contributions from Odetari, Grimes, slayr, George Clanton, Frost Children, XAMIYA, and MOLIY, with production from SatapanP, Grant Boutin (Tate McRae), VADAKIN (Grimes), MOMBRU (Fridayy), Byrd (Bad Bunny), Xansei (XG), and additional leading producers. Songwriting contributions include Charles “Scoot” Anderson (Ariana Grande), Cecile Believe (Charli xcx), and additional writers.
The EP was first unveiled during the sold-out JAPAN MUSIC VOCALOID showcase at Anime Expo in Los Angeles over the July 4th weekend. Following Grimes and SatapanP’s “Miku-Maxxing” and slayr and XAMIYA’s “Light,” “Party Monster” marks the latest chapter in the BEYOND BORDERs rollout, with the full EMERGE M♡DE MIKU EP arriving September 25th.
